Globe Miami Times was initially launched in June 2006 as a quarterly newspaper which showcased the people, culture and events of the local area. It’s primary purpose was to promote tourism and it was initially called: Globe Miami Visitors’ Guide. This created an unwanted perception that the paper was just for “tourists” and many locals passed up the paper for this reason. The name was changed a year later to “Globe Miami Times” and feature stories showcasing local businesses and individuals brought the paper new readership among local residents.

The Winter 2011 Edition featured the Apache Trail, Copper Spike and Todd Towns' incredible collection of old Mining Lamps.eT
It’s first run was a small paper of 12 pages and a circulation of approximately 8,000. Today, it averages 32+pages per edition and has a distribution of 12-14,000, with the summer months typically being smaller.
The paper is published 4 times a year: January * April * July * September
Although the paper is free and available at over 45 locations from Glendale, Apache Junction, Roosevelt, Globe, Miami, & Superior, we do offer paid subscriptions. See: Subscriptions.
A website, GMTECONNECT was first created in 2007 and used to publish the individual stories and provide an on-line calendar. This site was later replaced in 2009 with a robust CMS web portal which, today offers a Business Directory with over 700 listings, Events Calendar, Area Attractions and information on Globe, Miami and San Carlos.

NOTE: We do have Archived Editions going back to 2006 available. See Here.
